Three operators ask for online extensions in Nevada

All three companies need to delay their online poker launch in Nevada

The Golden Nugget, MGM Resorts and Boyd Gaming have filed for extensions to their online offering in Nevada as they have not met their 6 month criteria to move forward on their business plan to launch online poker in the state.

At a scheduled meeting set for October with the Nevada Gaming Control Board all three featured on the agenda to discuss the extension at which time the application for a delay will be decided.

All three operators were given their operating licenses in the autumn of 2012 and have so passed their time period without launching their online offerings.

Currently there are only two online poker sites operational in the state with Ultimate Poker and just recently launched WSOP.

The three companies asking for extensions all work with software providers, Golden Nugget are using Bally Technologies while Boyd Gaming & MGM are using European online operator bwin.party.

All three applications are expected to be cleared for extensions as other operators have applied already and have been granted more time.
