Singapore Casino AI System Hits Problems

According to reports Artificial Intelligence (AI) firm SenseTime is struggling to install the technology in Gentings Singapore Casino Resort because the current CCTV is of poor quality and is not working with the SenseTime software.

SenseTime is updating the Genting system so it can track every player and every game played so long as they are within the range of the cameras. It was hoped that it would be able to identify and track customers play along with covering all games played for security measures.

However according to a report in the Times SenseTime is not able at present to install the system and the question on how to resolve this is being discussed. SenseTime has recently opened a Macau office however back in 2019 the Macau government said that AI was not permitted within the casinos and only security surveillance was allowed.

Macau did not want AI tracking and indentifying players within the casinos under the current privacy protection legislation in Macau.
