Missouri Sports Betting Handle Drops to Record-Low $246.8 Million in July

The Missouri sports betting market recorded its lowest monthly handle since launching in December 2025, accepting $246.8 million in total wagers during July. Figures released by the Missouri Gaming Commission reflect a 4.5% decrease from June, when operators processed $258.3 million in bets. Despite the seasonal decline in overall wagering volume, operator revenues and state tax collections increased significantly due to higher win rates during a traditionally quiet period on the domestic sports calendar.
Online sports betting continued to dominate the state market, accounting for $243.5 million – or over 98% – of total wagers placed in July. Retail sportsbooks at land-based facilities generated the remaining $3.3 million.
Although total handle reached its lowest level since market inception, operator revenue demonstrated substantial growth. Taxable sports wagering revenue rose to $21.8 million in July, representing a 59.4% month-over-month increase from $13.7 million in June. State tax collections mirrored this trend, increasing 59.5% from $1.4 million in June to $2.2 million in July.
Market share remained concentrated among the state’s leading sportsbooks. DraftKings retained the top position, recording $108.8 million in handle, a 5.2% increase from $103.4 million in June. FanDuel finished second with $66.8 million, representing a 12.4% decline compared to its $76.3 million handle the previous month. Among secondary operators, bet365 generated $21.3 million, followed by Fanatics at $16.8 million and BetMGM at $16.7 million.
In terms of sport distribution, Major League Baseball led all categories, generating $135.2 million of the statewide handle. Multi-leg parlay wagers represented $79.6 million of total betting activity, while soccer accounted for $36.9 million.
